Frank started kart racing in 1998 at the age of 11 years old, and after completing 6 Cadet races, he moved into junior TKM (100cc direct drive karts) competing at club level for 1999.
In 2000 he took on board another class in Junior Gearbox (85cc 6 speed gearbox karts) and became the inaugural national champion, taking 4 out of 6 final victories. 2000 also saw an introduction to the England Internations team to represent the country in the JICA class.
In 2001 Frank became the Junior Gearbox national open champion.
In 2002, highlights came in the Junior TKM class with 2nd at Super 1 qualifying round, 4th place at Kart Masters Grand Prix and MBKC Gold Cup victory. Meanwhile Junior Gearbox brought another national championship and an open championship runner up spot.
Graduating to the senior category for 2003 in the ICC (125cc 6 speed gearbox karts) class, Frank finished the national championship in 4th place and claimed 2nd in the national open championship for 125 open. In 2003 he also raced for England in the Internations Challenge. This year also saw Frank get his first taste of car racing after winning a scholarship at Silverstone to race in a round of the Ginetta Sports car championship.
2004, and Frank was again competing in ICC and in a near perfect season, claimed the national championship along with the open championship.
For 2005 the championship moved to Stars of Tomorrow and after an unlucky season, Frank managed to finish in 3rd place in the Super ICC championship taking 2 race wins. Also, in 2005 he was selected to race for England again at the Internations Challenge.
The beginning of 2006 saw a disastrous start as frank broke his wrist in pre season testing. Still carrying the injury, he managed to bounce back to claim 3rd place in the Super ICC national championship, taking two victories at the final round. Again, he was selected to represent England at the Inernations Challenge.
After finishing 2006, in the top 6 of the National championship, Frank was selected for a shootout at the Higgins Rally School, competing for the prestigious Will Hoy Scholarship. Seeing off his rivals, Frank emerged victorious as each Driver was judged on driving, feedback, and presentation. This meant that Frank was awarded a drive in the Texaco Havoline Ginetta championship for 2007.
During this 2007 season, Frank competed in both the Stars of tomorrow Super ICC championship, and the Texaco Havoline Ginetta championship. A faultless karting season saw Frank winning 5 out of the 6 rounds he took part in, racking up 11 heat wins and 6 fastest laps. This meant he took the championship honors by a record 128 points and was awarded with the Will Hoy Scholarship for the second year running. During his debut car racing season, Frank quickly found his feet and soon visited the podium at Brands Hatch, then Croft. Finishing the season in 8th place out of the 49 cars in the championship, Frank also took rookie of the year award.
2008 brought another step up the motorsport ladder, with the help of the Will Hoy Scholarship, Frank moved to the Ginetta G50 Cup. Adapting well to the new series, Frank was consistently a front runner, taking his first victory at Mallory and scoring a total of 7 podiums and 2 lap records. This took Frank to 2nd place in the overall championship.
For 2009 the Ginetta G50 Cup graduated and became a part of the British Touring Car Championship. With the prestige and unrivalled media coverage this meant an ultra-competitive field, including many established stars. Frank produced his best season to date, showcasing his talent in front of bumper crowds and TV audiences. He claimed a record 23 podiums including 5 wins and 11 second places on his way to 2nd overall in the series.
